FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

• June was an exciting month for usSTM-101 • 07-12-2001

  •   Savethemusic.com redesign and database development
  •   Recognition of recent contributors
  •   Welcome to new Zamlers
  •   Successful presentation to the Association of Jewish Librarians
  •   Recognition of intern Philippe Goldstein

June was an exiting month for us. Save The Music has been able to make some important progress, thanks to the support of new Contributors, Mr. Gregorio Goldstein, Mr. Sam Krumholtz, Ms. Peggy McConnell and one other very generous person who wishes to remain anonymous.

Using these funds, we have been very busy redesigning savethemusic.com, giving it a new look and making it easier to use. The programming and database are now in place to make the site fully functional and more efficient to maintain.

The content has been reorganized for better access. Instead of the Collections, for instance, you will find The Yiddish Music Hall and The Ladino Music Hall. More Music Halls will be added as we receive funding for them. There is also new content to discover. We hope you will visit and enjoy all these features.

Save the Music welcomes our new Zamlers, Flor Feldman in San Francisco and Mary Weinberg in Irvine. Their addition will give us more comprehensive coverage of California. Next we hope to expand our network into the Midwest and the East Coast.

We are holding conversations with the Association of Jewish Librarians whose interest in Save The Music is the result of a presentation we gave to them recently. This presentation was very well received. They invited us to give another next year in Denver. We hope we can translate their enthusiasm into action and bring additional Zamlers and volunteers to our project.

We wish to thank Philippe Goldstein, whose creative vision contributed to the success of this presentation. In the sort time he served as an intern at Save The Music, Philippe brought fresh insights and a youthful perspective to our communication efforts that have greatly improved their effectiveness.

We also thank all of you for your interest and support, which enables Save The Music to continue growing, developing, and reaching toward our goals.

If you have any questions, comments or just want chat, please feel free to contact me.
